At Home with Kim Vallee:
Chandeliers are popular for dining rooms and the bedrooms. Crystal chandeliers are gorgeous but not everyone can afford it.
That is why I am thrilled to show you these stylish chandeliers made of Plexiglas and glass.
European flair with Incidence
The first collection is manufactured by Incidence located in France. As with many European design products, you can choose from an array of colors and chandelier models.
The design is sophisticated. I particularly enjoy the uses of 2 or 3 tones; it adds a modern twist to a classical model.
The green model with a single light would look great in a powder room. You could place 3 chandeliers in a row to dress up a long entrance hall. At only 38 € a piece, it is not even an indulgence.
Unfortunately, I did not find a retailer in North America that carries the Incidence chandelier collection. So if you know one, feel free to pass along us this information.

Home Improvement Blog:
Purchasing a crystal chandelier is similar to buying a diamond. Not all crystal is created equal. Crystal may be machine-cut, hand cut or molded. The cost of your chandelier can fluctuate drastically depending on the quality of crystal you choose. Most fixtures are available in four qualities of crystal.
Lights of Distinction - the Crystorama Lighting Group and James R. Moder are two of the largest manufacturers of Crystal Chandeliers.
Strass Crystal: Strass Crystal is considered the finest in the world. Strass is manufactured by Swarovski AG in the Austrian Alps. Strass is an optically pure crystal, clear as spring water, totally free of flaws, unique in purity and brilliance. Strass crystal is characterized by razor-sharp cutting of facets (surfaces) with the lead content in excess of 30 percent. Cutting and polishing are done by machine to achieve perfect optical clarity. Strass crystals are treated with an invisible coating, which eliminates dust attraction and makes it easier to clean and maintain. Each crystal (over 12mm) has the distinct STRASS® laser engraved signature, identifying it as a genuine STRASS® Crystal .

This Is Glamorous:
A close friend is looking for new lighting for above her dining table (a house guest hit his head on and broke her former hanging pendant), so I’ve been on the look-out for something stylish yet homey and a little Bohemian, since that’s how I would describe her taste.
Of course, I could be way off and she may want something ultra-glam, but I thought the Serena Drum Chandelier matches both our tastes.

WVVA TV:
This spring the chandelier was taken down for repairs.
It weighs about fifteen-hundred pounds and has over twenty-thousand crystals on it.
AcuBright, a company from New Hampshire took the light fixture down and shipped it to their offices for the restoration work…

Wired News:
At first, the Calliope Luxury Chandelier looks like a mockup, so shiny and sleek are its stalks, clips and oily glass sheets. It is, however, for real, and on sale for $15,800.
Why so expensive? Because the glass is Art Glass, the aluminum has a River Rock Finish, and whole assembly is like a flower bud about to bloom.

Architectural Classics:
Lyman (usually just ‘L.’) Frank Baum wrote The Wizard of Oz, one of my personal all-time favourite movies and one to which I know all of the lyrics, including whether the high voiced Munchkins or low-voiced Munchkins sing the lines!
It is an absolute classic, as well as the first movie to be made in color, and the classical style of the movie is reflected in the design of this chandelier in the lobby of the Hotel del Coronado, which Mr. Baum also designed.
With a total of 25 lamps to make the crystal chains underneath absolutely glow, and elegant styling which is all the more beautiful for being understated, it is just what you’d expect from the writer of such a gorgeous kids movie. More.
